This Short Film Is a Cross-Generational Love Letter to Passion, Family, and Ferrari.
STLL Studios and House Of Edits present the narrative short about Ferrari, family and the legacy that lies within them.
STLL Studios, in collaboration with House Of Edits, has completed 'Forza', a cinematic short film inspired by the legacy of Scuderia Ferrari and the enduring bond between generations.
Written and produced by Lester Platt, Forza is an emotionally charged narrative that weaves together the story of Luca, a young driver preparing for training laps with Ferrari, and the grandfather who first ignited his love for racing. Through striking visual storytelling and intimate performances, the film explores themes of technology, family, and the quiet sacrifices made in the name of love.
At its core, Forza is not simply about speed, it’s about inheritance. Not of trophies, but of dreams.
A Story Fuelled by Legacy
Set between a race track and a grandfather’s garage, Forza unfolds across two timelines. As Luca suits up for a pivotal moment in his racing career, he reflects on his childhood memories of working on cars with his grandfather, David, a man who once chased his own racing ambitions before choosing family over the track.
Through poetic match cuts and dynamic race cinematography, the film contrasts the tactile nostalgia of oil-stained garage floors with the cutting-edge precision of Ferrari engineering. The result is a layered visual language that celebrates both man and machine, and the emotional engine that drives them.
The film culminates in a quiet, powerful exchange: a small Ferrari model car passed from grandfather to grandson, a symbolic baton of unfinished dreams now realised.
Creative Vision
Forza was developed as a spec short under STLL Studios’ creative direction, with the key collaboration of executive producer Spencer Davis, from House Of Edits, blending cinematic storytelling with high-performance automotive imagery, with Adán Langbaum on direction and David Wells, Peter Longno and Luke Asper behind the cinematography.
The production showcases: Immersive race sequences capturing the adrenaline of the track, intimate character moments grounded in family and memory, seamless sound design elevating the sensory experience and a narrative arc rooted in generational pride and fulfilment.
The film closes with the iconic message: "Sometimes you have to look back to move forward."
A Strategic Festival Run
Forza is slated for submission to major national and international film festivals, including: Austin Film Festival, SXSW 2027 and the Motor Film Awards.
The team is also targeting commercial and branded storytelling recognition platforms such as the Telly Awards. recognition.
